Tickets are $115 a piece or $1030 per table if ordered online. If you have already ordered your tickets, there is no reason to reorder the tickets through the website. There is always an option to fill out a form and not order your tickets online and send a check and form through the mail (email: iowablackandblueball@gmail.com) if you want to go with this option. If you want to ensure you sit at the same table as others, all tickets must be ordered by one person, at one time. If you need more than 1 table, please just add however many tables you need to your cart and it should allow you to purchase multiple tables or tickets at once!
A little more about Iowa Concerns of Police Survivors and the Black and Blue Ball if you do not know what we do:
The Iowa Concerns of Police Survivors Black and Blue Ball will take place on September 30th, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. at the Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center located at 833 5th Ave. Des Moines, Iowa. This is a formal event, to come together to support our survivors and fundraise to support our mission. The Black and Blue Ball is Iowa Concerns of Police Survivor’s main fundraiser which helps us send spouses, parents, children, siblings, and co-workers to National Police Week in Washington, D.C. This trip is not provided to our survivors by National Concerns of Police Survivors and on average this trip costs approximately $2,000 per survivor between hotel costs ($1,495.75 for 5 nights) and the average cost of a flight ($500). In the past few years with the unfortunate increase in line of duty deaths we have been sending around 160 survivors per year. We never want a survivor to miss this opportunity because they can not financially afford to go, as they have already all given the ultimate sacrifice.
Iowa Concerns of Police Survivors also has a funeral response team that assists with coordinating line of duty funerals. We assist to make sure the wishes of the family, no matter how big or small of a request it is, comes true. Fundraising also supports this funeral response team.
Iowa Concerns of Police Survivors also reimburses our survivors mileage for attending various retreats and camps to include kids camps, young adult camp, spouses retreat, siblings retreat, coworkers retreat, etc. These programs are provided free of cost, but often times families have to drive to these locations which can cause financial hardship.
These are just some of the things our chapter does, and there are many more things we do to support our survivors.
