Yanira started her career in Law Enforcement in 2002 with the Des Moines Police Department. Yanira first learned about C.O.P.S. in 2008 when she attended National Police Week in Washington, D.C. to honor Senior Police Officer Sean Wissink. Yanira assisted in getting Iowa C.O.P.S. started in 2010. Since then, Yanira has been a huge supporter of Iowa C.O.P.S. and assists in any way possible. Yanira is currently serving as Past-President on the Iowa C.O.P.S. board.
